Well, after a night celebrating the marriage of Team Bro’s manager, it was the start of the today.
Feeling the effects of my one drink of lager-shandy I arrived at a jam packed car park on Shrewsbury. Parking eventually sorted, my parking neighbour decided to run over my front wheel, in her car, a brand new carbon front wheel…
No problem, I found Phil who dutifully exchanged wheels for me, I had no idea he had an identical wheel set up.
Race was off! Hot day, fast start, Hannah Payton fired off the front. I was up there for a lap or two but gradually waned back to forth ( must have been the lager shandy). I had terrible dismounts and remounts – lots to practice there. Hannah Payton, Lydia Gurley and Isla Rowntree made up the podium.
Was good to see a large women’s field.
